THREE-CAR RECOVERY WORLD TRANSPORTER FOR MACK TRANSPORT LTD

New for Mack Transport Ltd of Harwich is this Isuzu N75.190 with twin-deck transporter body by Recovery World. Mack Transport runs ten trucks, with the bulk of its fleet being made up of full-size transporters capable of carrying up to 11 cars.

“We needed a smaller vehicle for work at a car auction site in Peterborough,” Steve Mack explains. “We normally buy new vehicles, but started this operation with a used Isuzu. It worked well, and we’ve now invested in this new truck and trailer combination from Recovery World.”

The Isuzu with Recovery World body offers an excellent payload at a competitive price, and the trailer is designed as a cross-over unit allowing cars to be loaded or unloaded from the truck without uncoupling the trailer, which speeds deliveries.

“It’s versatile and is working really well,” Steve Mack says. “We’re working well within the vehicle’s weight limits, and have the ability to move heavy four-by-fours on the trailer while carrying two cars on the truck.”

The Recovery World body is constructed from galvanised steel for a long operating life, and has aluminium chequer plate decking. The bottom deck is 20ft 6in long and 7ft 6in wide, while the hydraulically-raised upper platform is 15ft 5in long and 7ft 2in wide and has a capacity of 1500kg. Aluminium slide-out ramps are fitted, and the truck has a Warn M6000 winch with wander lead.

The N75.190 is a 7.5-tonner powered by a 5.2-litre 190bhp Euro VI Isuzu engine coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. Steve Mack praises the aftersales support he gets from Isuzu dealer Imperial Commercials.
